About the IAPP

Shawn Ford is a Manager in the Privacy, Regulatory and Information Management team at KPMG in Canada. His focus is operationalizing privacy for clients of all sizes and levels of privacy maturity. 

As a trained lawyer, he previously was legal counsel for a tech company, where he advised on business, privacy, contract, and risk management matters. He also had his own law firm where he advised startups and small companies on business, privacy, and cybersecurity legal requirements. Prior to running his own firm, he was a litigator at a civil litigation firm on Toronto’s west side. 

Shawn has a LL.M. from Osgoode Hall, a LL.B from the University of Law in London, UK, and a BA in Legal Studies from UOIT.
