Danny Grooms is a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Cooley LLP. Before joining Cooley, Danny worked at the U.S. Department of Justice for more than 15 years, serving as an Assistant United States Attorney, the National Security Unit chief, and the Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia. From 2013-2016, he also served as a senior advisor both in the National Security Division and for the Deputy Attorney General. Danny regularly represents and counsels clients in U.S. government-facing investigations and on U.S. intelligence authorities and criminal laws, including FISA, the CLOUD Act, and the Stored Communications Act.
