Ali is an ex-particle physicist from CERN with a passion for using data to positively impact businesses, institutions and society in general.

With a background in Physics, Mathematics and Computer science, Ali researches the space that straddles computer science and real world issues such as privacy and the impact of AI on society. His research has spanned modelling re-identification, to understanding how the insurance sector is set to change given the “AI revolution”.

Before this shift he spent 2 years split evenly between the department of Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at Cambridge University, and CERN, where he was responsible for detecting anomalous signals in the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter.

Today's Ali's research focuses on areas with more direct and immediate impact on society.
