Mazen Kassis works as Head of Data & Analytics for Foodstuffs North Island, a 100% Aotearoan (New Zealand) owned cooperative and largest FMCG/CPG retailer & wholesaler in the country. His duties involve helping to enhance the culture and practices related to privacy. He works closely with colleagues in the Legal and InfoSec teams to this end.

Prior to joining Foodstuffs, Mazen held a variety of data leadership roles across different sectors, including public health, banking, government, NGO, media, and entertainment.



Synthesising data to inform decision making ignites his passion. Creating ecosystems where this can be done at scale drives him. Using this expertise to substantively improve people’s lives makes him happy.



Mazen has been a member of the IAPP since 2019 and has earned a CIPM certification.
