About the IAPP

Kara Hinesley is the Head of Public Policy, Government, and Philanthropy for Twitter Australia and New Zealand. She works to educate policymakers about Twitter and manages the company’s public policy agenda with government policymakers, regulators, and civil society groups on a diverse range of tech and digital issues in the region. She also oversees the company’s local philanthropic efforts through our @TwitterforGood program.

A law graduate of the University of Sydney and Quinnipiac University, she was a lawyer in the United States before moving to Sydney. She holds legal credentials in the United States and Australia, is an accredited mediator, and was previously a media and policy adviser with over ten years of experience working within the digital start-up and technology sector before joining the company.
