Elizabeth leads Kids Action at Common Sense Media. Common Sense has a consumer platform that reaches more than 100 million families and an educational curriculum in half of America's schools. Its policy arm, Kids Action, advocates on behalf of kids and families in the digital world. Elizabeth has 20 years of experience at the intersection of policy, communications, and media, most recently as a strategic consultant to foundations, public agencies and nonprofits developing public education and policy advocacy campaigns. Elizabeth previously served as a policy analyst at the Department of Children, Youth, and Families in San Francisco and she spent more than a decade in media at Mother Jones, as research editor, managing editor, and then as director of communications and public affairs as the award-winning national news outlet. She is a graduate of Harvard College and received masters' in journalism and public policy from UC Berkeley.
