Associate Professor

David Cuillier, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the University of Arizona School of Journalism, where he researches and teaches data journalism and access to public records. A former newspaper reporter and editor in the Pacific Northwest, Cuillier has testified numerous times before Congress regarding the Freedom of Information Act and he is editor of the Journal of Civic Information. He has served as freedom of information chair and president for the Society of Professional Journalists, and he co-authored “The Art of Access: Strategies for Acquiring Public Records” and “Transparency 2.0: Digital Data and Privacy in a Wired World.”
