A class-action lawsuit claims Google employees collected smartphone users’ sensitive data and information on non-Google apps, MediaPost reports. In the suit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, New York resident Robert McCoy alleges Google violates privacy and consumer protection laws by “secretively” collecting “sensitive personal data” on his Android phone. Meanwhile, an Illinois woman is suing Macy’s over its use of Clearview AI facial recognition software.
